🐾 K9EDGE Client Onboarding Page

Welcome to K9EDGE Dog Training — we're excited to start your dog's training journey! This page includes all the information you need to get started, including what to expect, how to prepare, and your mandatory waiver and consent forms. Please read each section carefully and complete the required acknowledgements at the bottom.

🚨 1. Does Your Dog Show Aggression or Reactivity?

If your dog:

  • Growls, lunges, snaps, or bites

  • Guards food, toys, or space

  • Reacts strongly to other dogs or people

You must disclose this in advance. These behaviours require a dedicated consult and customized safety plan.

🔺 Failure to disclose aggression history may result in session termination without refund.

Aggression and reactivity are not problems to hide — they’re challenges we are trained to help with.

2. What to Expect Before, During, and After Your Session

  • Session Duration: Each session is 90 minutes total (approx. 45 minutes of training + 15 minutes transition time + travel buffer).

  • Arrival: Arrival time may vary due to traffic. You'll receive a text update if there's any delay.

  • Footwear: Chris will wear clean indoor footwear as a safety protocol.

  • Training Location: In-home or outdoor based on your needs and weather.

  • Trainer: Chris Edge, former police officer and certified behaviour specialist.

  • Daytime Pricing: $130 (11:00am–3:30pm)

  • Evening Pricing: $150 (3:30pm–6:30pm)

  • Premium Evening: $175 (5:30pm–7:00pm, Mon/Tue only)

Please do not feed your dog within 3 hours of our session. Ensure your dog has relieved themselves within 30 minutes before training. Your dog must be wearing a properly fitted collar or harness and attached to a fixed-length leash. No retractable leashes.

3. Choosing the Right Training Stream

K9EDGE offers 4 specialized streams. Please ensure you are in the right stream. You may be reassigned after your consult based on fit:

✅ Foundations & Manners

For dogs needing help with basics like leash walking, impulse control, and polite greetings.

🐶 Puppy Development

For puppies under 6 months. Focuses on socialization, confidence, and house training.

⚠️ Behaviour Modification

For mild behaviour issues like barking, excitability, or destructive habits. Not aggression.

🔺 Aggression & Reactivity

For dogs who bite, lunge, growl, or have a known aggression history. Requires a dedicated consult and safety plan.

4. Preparation & Safety

  • Minimize Distractions: Please remove other pets and food sources from the training space. One handler per session is ideal.

  • Reinforcers: Chris uses Canadian dried beef liver treats — low mess, high value. Inform us of any allergies.

  • Emergency Protocol: If your dog becomes overstimulated or aggressive, you must calmly leash and remove them to a secure space upon request.

6. Waiver and Release of Liability (Summary)
